Musical development works a lot like language development. Early exposure to music, and how it happens means kids ages 4-7 are at the perfect stage for musical exploration. Their brains are wired to absorb rhythm, melody, and collaboration naturally. But kids need to feel like they’re playing with music, not studying music.
That’s exactly what Kidz Rock is designed to do.
In a small group setting, students rotate through drums, electric guitar, and keyboard as they learn to play and sing together. We aren’t sitting quietly at a piano bench. We’re moving, playing, and making music with other kids. Group dynamics keep students engaged while they learn fundamentals through play.
Got a kid who can barely sit still for five minutes? You’re not alone, and you’re in the right place. Kidz Rock is designed to work with that energy, not against it.
Each Kidz Rock class covers rhythmic and dynamic concepts, age-appropriate note reading, and the basics of guitar, keyboard, drums, and singing. Most importantly, students experience what it feels like to make music together. For most kids, that feeling is what keeps them engaged in the learning process.
Kidz Rock music classes in Milford are open to kids with no prior experience. All instruments are provided by Michigan Rock School. There are no practice expectations outside of class. Classes are held at our annex location at 125 S. Main Street, inside The Warehouse at River’s Edge — you’ll find us in the classroom behind the stage.
