Bass guitar players hold an important role in a band, providing the low-end frequencies that give music that “full” sound. While bass guitar and six-string guitar share similarities, bass isn’t just an easier version of the guitar. Beginners are able to feel successful with the bass in a short period of time, while advanced techniques for bass guitar often involve an understanding of music theory, scales, and chord structure. Michigan Rock School bass instructors do a great job getting beginners up and running with fun songs to play, while teaching proper techniques and explaining the “bigger picture” concepts that bass guitar brings to music. Lesson material is presented in a manner that can be applied to nearly all genres of music, including rock, pop, metal, funk, blues, and jazz.
Michigan Rock School instructors are some of the most talented musicians in the metro Detroit area, but equally important is their ability to explain sometimes-difficult musical concepts in simple to understand terms. Bringing those talents to our Downtown Milford studio and our West Oakland County students is a key element to keeping our music lesson programs fun and engaging!
Private bass lessons at Michigan Rock School are available in weekly 30-minute or 60-minute sessions, and are designed to support each students personal musical goals.
